LONDON BABY!!
Most people assume that us authors don’t do anything except sit behind our computers (or with a pad and pen on our laps), and just write. We do! Sometimes we write on Facebook, or Twitter, or draft our shopping lists! Occasionally we do write multiple paragraphs of legible words to send to our editors, honest! The 5th July 2017 was not one of those occasional moments; we were allowed out for good behaviour!! Of course there was only ONE place which us authors could descend-upon; the Victoria & Albert Museum in London for the Harper Collins Summer Party!
I do like to party, everybody does!
Congratulations are in order as Harper Collins are celebrating their 200th year! It really is an incredible achievement, one I am absolutely thrilled to be part of as an author.
I’m sure you would like to know the ins and outs of the party, right? I’m not really one for celeb-stalking…..
……what am I on about, of course I am! I did manage to snap a picture of a certain children’s author and red button pusher, David Walliams. But, seeing as he seems to have his ‘reserved for Simon Cowell’ mid-talking grimace, I shan’t post that on here as I don’t fancy a visit from Mr.Walliams’ ‘Gangsta Granny’ with a telling off! It would either be her or ‘Mr Stink’…self-explanatory don’t you think?
I did ask him for a selfie though!
We’re even matching! #daymade
David Walliams wasn’t the only person I got to rub shoulders with on the night!
I also had the pleasure of catching up with Bella Osborne, Lucie Wheeler, and our lovely editor, Charlotte Ledger!
As an author, I think it’s kinda funny how life can change, how it can flip 180 in a matter of days. I refused to give up. I refused to give in. Even on the days I am having a blip, I remember what some wise guys told me back in the day – All rise!
My mistake, I say back in the day but I meant at the party. Clearly!
I met a lot of fabulous people at the party, I wish I could tell you about every single one of them, instead I can offer you a few pictures from the evening itself. I am also glad that I managed to catch up with a few of my lovely author friends, too!
It was such an honour to be part of Harper Collins’ celebration, thank you for having me! Here’s to the next party!
Congratulations Harper Collins!!
